Do I need an identity card?

Yes, you will need an identity card for the handover. Unfortunately, a driver’s license, passport or other document will not work. We save a scan of the ID card and delete it within 7 days of the rental bike being returned.

Do I have to pay a deposit?

No, we do not charge a deposit.

When do I have to pay?

For short-term bookings (within 2 days) you can either pay directly when booking with PayPal or in our store with cash, credit or debit card.
For previous bookings, you can pay via PayPal directly when placing your order or we will send you a payment link after booking.

Please note: Your booking is binding in any case. Cancellation is always possible free of charge up to 48 hours before the start of the rental period. If you have already paid, we will refund the rental price immediately.

Can I return the bike outside of opening hours?

Yes, you can also return the rental bikes daily between 10:00 and 18:00. This is also possible on days when the store is closed.

Can I take the eBike charger with me?

We do not usually provide chargers for day rentals of bicycles. If you are planning long tours, simply ask for the charger and we will be happy to give it to you.

Can I rent a helmet?

Yes, you can also order a helmet when you book.

Questions and answers on liability

Is the bike insured against theft during the rental period?

Yes, all bikes are insured against theft, a handling fee of EUR 50.00 will be charged in the event of theft. For the insurance to apply, the bicycle must be attached to a fixed object.

What should I do in the event of theft?

You have to take photos of the crime scene and the destroyed castle. Then please call us and file a report with the police.

What damage to the bicycle am I liable for?

The bicycle is generally insured against damage and accidents. However, as processing via the insurance company is quite complicated, we charge a processing fee of EUR 50.00 for damages. In the case of minor damage (e.g. flat tires), it is not worth settling via the insurance company. You must therefore bear these costs.

Flat tire: EUR 24.95
Lost key: EUR 39.90
Cleaning due to heavy soiling: EUR 29.95
The insurance is not liable for gross negligence, e.g. driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
